Escanaba, MI – The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) has scheduled a community forum in Escanaba, MI on Friday, May 17th, 2019 from 4-7 pm to allow the public an opportunity to offer their input on Upper Peninsula Power Co.’s (UPPCO) long-term service plans. The forum will take place at Bay de Noc Community College, 952 Bays Conference Room in the Joseph Heirman University Center, 2001 N. Lincoln Road, Escanaba.
The public information session will address UPPCO’s integrated resource plan (Case No. U-20350). Utility-developed IRPs, which are required under the state’s energy laws, map out how companies will meet the future electric needs of their customers.
The public is welcome to attend an open presentation about UPPCO’s integrated resource plan. All three Michigan Public Service Commissioners – Chairman Sally Talberg, Norman Saari, and Daniel Scripps – and Commission Staff will also be in attendance. Staff will present information about UPPCO’s plan and the IRP process.
The forum is open to the media. Please contact Nick Assendelft, media relations for the MPSC, at (517) 388-3135 if you are interested in attending the forum or setting up interviews with any of the Commissioners.
