Since October 2008, the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation has trained future conservationists with an interdisciplinary and interactive program at SCBI’s facility in Front Royal, Va. Undergraduate, graduate and professional students from the United States and abroad participate in courses taught by prominent scientists and educators from SCBI, Mason and other institutions. The new complex serves the growing need for global conservation training and will also serve the local community.
