Milestone Moment Reports: 746,000 Michigan Eligible for Financial Help in Health Law

Washington, D.C. – Starting on October 1, 2013, the first enrollment period will begin for the new health insurance marketplace created under the Affordable Care Act. At that time, approximately 746,000 Michiganders can take the steps needed to secure financial help so that comprehensive, affordable health coverage becomes available to them as of January 1, 2014.

On Friday, September 6th, 2013, Families USA, the national organization for health care consumers, will release an analysis about the new benefits and protections Michiganders can obtain and how, starting on October 1, they can go about securing those benefits and protections.

Since most Michiganders eligible for new help under the Affordable Care Act are still unaware of it, the analysis released during the teleconference is intended to bridge this information gap.
