First “Michigan Rail Conference” to be held
August 27, 2013 (8:00 am – 4:00 pm) in Lansing, MI
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), in collaboration with the Michigan Technological University and the National University Rail Center (NURail) will host the first Michigan Rail Conference to discuss the latest developments in passenger and freight rail today and in the future. The event will take place at the Lansing Community College, West Campus Conference Center on August 27, 2013.
State Senator Tom Casperson, Chair, Senate Transportation Committee and State Representative Wayne Schmidt, Chair, House Transportation Committee will both speak at the event. The keynote address will be given by Tom Carper, former Director and Chairman of the Amtrak Board of Directors and a current member of the Board.
