Treasury Hosting Outreach Seminars in September to Inform Small Businesses about Filing, Paying Taxes Online

Michigan Treasury Online Enables Small Businesses to go Mostly Paperless

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Treasury is holding several seminars this month to inform small businesses about the benefits of going paperless through Michigan Treasury Online (MTO).

MTO is an online resource for business taxpayers that enables businesses to file tax returns, pay taxes and maintain business accounts with the state Treasury Department. Throughout September, Treasury Outreach Team members are holding seminars in the cities of Flint, Saginaw and Rochester Hills to discuss the functionality of MTO, recent upgrades and improvements, answer general questions and solicit suggestions for continued improvement.

“Small business taxpayers can basically stop filing paper returns and conduct most of their state tax affairs online,” said Deputy State Treasurer Glenn White, head of Treasury’s Tax Administration Group. “Our outreach seminars are designed so small businesses can get specific help with their Michigan Treasury Online accounts. We are also asking for feedback so Treasury can improve its taxpayer services.”
