Outgoing CEO Mulally saluted for his impact on the iconic company

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder offered the following statement on Thursday’s announcement of the new Ford CEO and president:

“Ford Motor Company is a Pure Michigan success story known around the world, and the company’s sustained comeback is a tribute to its leaders and hard-working employees.

“I congratulate Mark Fields, named today as the company’s next president and CEO. He rose through the company’s ranks and knows what has made ‘the Blue Oval’ special to generations of car-buyers and the people who build them. His international experience will no doubt help him ensure that people around the globe will know Ford’s made-in-Michigan quality.

“I also salute outgoing CEO Alan Mulally, whose remarkable leadership guided the company through challenging times. Ford is stronger today because of his talents, and his impact is felt far beyond the company.”
