ANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder announced the appointment of Dennis Dobritt, of Bloomfield Hills, to the Michigan Task Force on Physician’s Assistants.
The 13-member committee determines and approves qualifications of physician’s assistants, and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with overseeing more than 4,000 physician’s assistants throughout the state.
“Dennis is a great choice for this task force,” said Snyder. “He brings years of valuable experience and I appreciate his willingness to serve.”
Dobritt is founder and president of Farmington Hills-based Tri-County Pain Consultants PC, a position he has held since 2001. He previously served as president and attending anesthesiologist for Northland Anesthesia Associates PC and as president and attending pain management specialist for Michigan Pain Management Consultants PC. Dobritt holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and mathematics from Western Michigan University and a medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He will represent the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Steven Acker.
Dobritt will serve the remainder of a four-year term that expires Dec. 31, 2013, and his appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
