LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Cynthia Allen, of Parma, and William Perrone, of East Lansing, to the Correctional Officers Training Council. He also announced the reappointments of Charles Falahee, Jr., of Jackson, and Francine Wresinski, of Holt.
The eight-member council develops minimum standards and requirements for state correctional officers.
“These individuals bring significant experiences to the board, and I am confident they will contribute important insight to crucial decisions regarding public safety,” said Snyder.
Allen is the executive director of Community Relations, Performing Arts & Auxiliary Services at Jackson Community College and brings more than 30 years of higher education experience to the board. She graduated with an associate’s degree in business from Jackson Community College, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in organizational leadership, both from Siena Heights University. Allen will represent Michigan community colleges and the academic community and replaces Avon Burns.
Perrone is an attorney and manages Dykema’s Lansing office. His practice is focused in the areas of state regulations, real estate and mortgage financing for clients in the manufactured housing, energy and insurance sectors. Previously, Perrone served as an assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan. He is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association, National Manufactured Housing Attorney Network and the State Bar of Michigan’s Administrative Law, Real Property and Business Law sections. Perrone holds bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from Wayne State University. He will represent the general public and replaces Kay Lennerth.
Falahee is a retired Jackson County District Judge and previously worked in private practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Wayne State University. Falahee will represent the general public.
Wresinski is the division administrator of Employee and Administrative Services for the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB). Previously, she worked in the state departments of information technology, state police and transportation. Wresinski holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She will represent DTMB.
Appointees will serve three-year terms that expire March 29, 2015, and their appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
