Snyder Makes Appointments, Reappointments

Public School Employees’ Retirement System Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Dan Christner, of Brighton, and the reappointment of Michael Ringuette, of West Bloomfield, to the Michigan Public School Employees’ Retirement System Board.

The board is responsible for general oversight of retirement, survivor and disability benefits to employees in public school districts, intermediate school districts and certain community colleges and universities.

“Dan and Michael are experienced professionals and I look forward to the work they will do to provide retirement options for public school employees,” Snyder said.

 

Members will serve four-year terms to expire March 30, 2018. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Snyder makes appointments to Board of Nursing

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Benjamin Bufford, of Grand Rapids, Karl Olson, of East Lansing, Beth Recker, of Grand Rapids, and Amy Zoll, of Hillsdale, to the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 23-member board establishes qualifications for nurse licensure, approves standards for nurse education programs and takes disciplinary action against licensees when the health, safety, and welfare of the public have been adversely affected.

“These are great choices for this board,” said Snyder. “I am confident they will effectively assist the board in overseeing the practice of Michigan’s registered and practical nurses and nurse specialists.”

Recker and Zoll will serve the remainder of four-year terms expiring June 30, 2017. Olson and Bufford will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2018. Appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Snyder makes appointment to Board of Marriage and Family Therapy

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Sara Dupuis, of East Lansing, to the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.

The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the practice of more than 800 marriage and family therapists.

“Sara is a talented professional and I look forward the great insight she will bring to this board,” Snyder said.

Dupuis will serve a four-year term to expire June 30, 2018. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Snyder makes appointment to Board of Audiology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Teresa Zwolan, of Ann Arbor, to the Michigan Board of Audiology.

The nine-member board licenses and regulates audiologists practicing in Michigan.

“Teresa brings additional leadership and talent to the board and I look forward to her good work,” Snyder said.

Zwolan will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2018. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Snyder makes appointment to Board of Acupuncture

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jonathan Zaidan, of Bloomfield Hills, to the Michigan Board of Acupuncture.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 13-member board oversees the licensure and practice of acupuncture.

“Jonathan brings a wealth of experience to the board and I thank him for his service,” Snyder said.

Zaidan will serve a four-year term to expire June 30, 2018. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
