2,715 More Homes Visited on Tuesday by Water Response Teams

FLINT, MI – As noted in Governor Snyder’s State of the State address last night, significant progress has been made in distributing water resources to residents in Flint.

As of this morning, 22,129 homes in the City of Flint were either visited by a water response team, comprised of city, county and state personnel, American Red Cross and volunteers, or the resident has visited a water resource site to pick up these resources.

The following resources have been distributed to residents, both at the water resource sites and by water response teams, in addition to donations:

· More than 77,700 cases of water

· More than 69,700 water filters

· More than 16,600 water testing kits

There is a coordinated effort to ensure that each Flint home is provided with a water filter and other water supplies. This data is being collected and mapped in real-time, so water response teams know where to focus their door-to-door efforts.

The State of Michigan has purchased the following resources, since January 5, which will continue to be delivered to Flint over the coming days:

· 95,760 cases of water

· 115,700 water filters

· 61,161 water testing kits

Persons wishing to volunteer or provide material, in-kind, or financial donations can visit www.helpforflint.com for more information.

Water resource sites remain open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and are located at:

Fire Station #1
310 East 5th St.
Flint, MI 48502

Fire Station #3
1525 Martin Luther King Ave.
Flint, MI 48503

Fire Station #5

Flint, MI 48506

Fire Station #6
716 West Pierson Road
Flint, MI 48505

To enhance the water testing process, Flint residents can drop-off water samples to the five water resource sites. Samples will only be accepted by using the official water testing kits provided at the water resource sites and by the water response teams.

The State of Michigan continues to coordinate response efforts in partnership with the city of Flint, Genesee County and local community organizations.
