The Year of Clean Air – AQD 101 Webinar Series is a monthly webinar that will focus on specific topics associated with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Air Quality Division (AQD) and its associated programs. AQD staff handles a variety of very specialized parts of keeping Michigan’s air clean and safe for our state’s residents. Air quality has improved dramatically in the state since we began to manage and regulate what is allowed to enter our air 50 years ago. The webinars will feature firsthand experience from a variety of AQD staff members from Lansing and the field, representing the multiple facets of AQDs various programs.

What to expect from an Air Inspection

In the second installment of the Year of Clear Air – AQD 101 Series, inspections will be discussed in detail. The webinar will discuss what happens when the inspector knocks on your door.  What are your responsibilities? What may your inspector want to look at during the inspection?  What should you have ready to show your inspector?  And most importantly, what happens next?  If you have ever had an AQD inspection, or think you may have one in the future, then this would be a great webinar to check out.

Potential to Emit
What is it and why are all Air Quality Rules based on it?

(Registration coming soon)

When someone says, “Look at your Potential to Emit (PTE)” or “Did you calculate your PTE?” does it make you panic a little bit wondering what they are talking about? PTE can be a confusing topic for all sectors of industry. However, PTE is something that most businesses should be assessing on a more regular basis. This webinar will focus on what PTE is and why it is used to determine applicability for most air regulations. If PTE confounds you, then this webinar would be a good way to begin your PTE education.
