Sheri Davie moved to Marquette from Kinross, Michigan in 2001 to serve as U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow’s Regional Manager responsible for constituent work within the 15 U.P. counties. After retiring in 2010, she was hired part time as Executive Director of the Marquette City Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Sheri is also an adjunct consultant with the Michigan Association of School Boards working with school boards to provide superintendent searches and board training.
Her volunteer interests include being a board member of the Superior Health Foundation and serving on the executive committee of the Marquette County Democratic Party. Sheri received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Communication from Lake Superior State University and a Master’s of Public Administration Certificate from Northern Michigan University.
As a native of the U.P. and graduate of Newberry High School, Sheri and her husband relocated back to the Eastern Upper Peninsula from Colorado in 1974. She’s held elective office as a trustee on the Kinross Township Board; Rudyard School Board, as President and board member for 12 years; six years on the board of the Intermediate School District of the EUP; two three-year terms on the Michigan Association of School Boards; and Vice-President of the Educational Support Staff Union at Lake Superior State University, as well as being a union steward for more than nine years. She also served as a board member for ten years on the E.U.P. Mental Health Board, and three years as Chair.
Work experience for Sheri includes employment at the University of Michigan, the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, University of Denver, Lake Superior State University, and the United States Senate. In addition, she has been a partner and co-owner of a multimedia production company, Davie Multimedia producing educational and promotional video programs , including the award-winning film “Healthy Start,” encouraging prenatal health care and awareness for rural Native American populations in Michigan.
Sheri and her husband, Bill, have three children and six grandchildren.
Sheri Davie commented that throughout her adult life, she has appreciated and participated in public service knowing that we each have gifts to share. “I would like to use my background and experience at the local, state, and federal level to serve the citizens of Marquette County.” she said.
