Troy, Michigan – Lena Epstein filed her year-end FEC report with $1,038,097 cash on hand. The number is more than 7x higher than any of her Republican opponents in the race, making her the strongest general election candidate for the GOP. She released the following statement:
“Later this year, Southeast Michigan Republicans will have a very important decision to make. If we hope to keep Michigan’s 11th Congressional District in Republican hands and prevent Nancy Pelosi from becoming Speaker of the House, we must nominate the strongest candidate possible.
I have the business experience and leadership ability to bring a political outsider’s perspective to Washington, D.C. to help drain the swamp and put America First. I’m the only Republican in the race that has the resources necessary to defeat the Democrats in 2018 and make certain that Nancy Pelosi is never again Speaker of the House.”
Epstein has more cash on hand than every other Republican candidate combined. Rocky Raczkowski reports having the second most cash on hand with $141,199. That figure does not include the $147,735 of debt his old campaign committee still owes that was accumulated during an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 2010. Plymouth Township Supervisor Kurt Heise is third with $111,531.76. State Rep. Klint Kesto was next, reporting $100,545.17. They all would have to raise a significant amount of money in the coming months to compete with the leading Democrat Haley Stevens, who reports having $464,514.78 cash on hand.
Lena Epstein: $1,038,097
Rocky Raczkowski: $141,199
