50 Countries, 400 cities, 200,000 Marchers, including local UP
residents! Participants will meet at the Marquette Commons at 2pm
after the Grand Opening of the Farmers Market, march to McClellan then convene at Harlow Park. Participants are welcome to bring a picnic (with reusable dining ware, of course!), followed by a word from the host, Heidi Gould, then a moment of silence/positive intention in solidarity with other communities the world over! A petition and postcards to be signed and sent to legislators will be available and attendees are encouraged to stay and share in the planning of summer events promoting and leading up to World Food Day, October 16 with this year’s theme being “Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition”.
