CALUMET – State Representative Scott Dianda (D- Calumet) will host nearly a dozen state legislators from across Michigan on Saturday, February 27th at 1p.m. EST in the Great Lakes Research Center on Michigan Tech University’s campus in Houghton. Lawmakers will hear presentations from local experts on economic development, tourism, rural health innovation and the forest products industry. Each year, Representative Dianda invites state lawmakers to tour the Copper Country in conjunction with the CopperDog 150 Sled-Dog Races. This year marks the third annual trip which has progressively grown in popularity. Aside from learning about the specific needs of the Upper Peninsula, lawmakers will partake in the CopperDog 150 festivities, visit local small businesses and attend a Michigan Tech Huskies hockey game.
The event is not open to the public.
