The committee meeting will include presentations from Gov. Rick Snyder, MDEQ Director Dan Wyant, state Sen. Tom Casperson, and others. Additionally, testimony will be taken from stakeholders on the Next Michigan Development Act (Senate Bills 397 and 398, introduced by Casperson), the economic impact of the timber and mining industries in the Upper Peninsula, and the economic impact of the Upper Peninsula on the overall economy of Michigan. Further testimony will focus on economic development activity, opportunity and needs in the Upper Peninsula.
