T-Byrd Himself calls in to Doc and Duck to talk music, hunting, fishing, and lots of… well, stuff!

His first No. 1 single was 1993’s “Holdin’ Heaven”. Byrd finally scored his second No. 1 hit in the fall of 2002, with “Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo.” He is also known for covering two 1970s-era hits for country music legend Johnny Paycheck — “Someone to Give My Love To” (1993, Byrd’s second chart hit) and “(Don’t Take Her) She’s All I Got” (1997).

Byrd is an avid outdoorsman. He began fishing with his grandmother, Mavis Vaughn, when he was only three, and she bought him his first shotgun when he was six. His love of those sports has given him the opportunity to host two shows on the Outdoor Channel.

Make sure you tune in to the 8:00 am hour for all things Tracy Byrd!

THIS IS THE FIRST OF WHAT WE HOPE WILL BE A REGULAR FOCUS ON SOME GOOD NEWS FROM AROUND MARQUETTE COUNTY.  WE CALL IT THE “DONE SOMETHING GOOD” FILE.

WE START WITH THE TIP OF THE HAT TO MARQUETTE’S ROTARIANS AND “FINN POWER!”

This bit of Marquette County news came across my desk this morning:

Rotary Club of Marquette Makes Major Contribution

More than ,600 Donated to Marquette Area Fourth of July Committee

Marquette, February 24th, 2009: Marquette’s annual Fourth of July festivities are one step closer to being self-sufficient—thanks to members of the Rotary Club of Marquette. On Monday, February 23rd at the club’s regular meeting Rotarian Jorma Lankinen presented a check for ,647.25 to Tom Tourville of the Marquette Area Fourth of July Committee—all proceeds from the club’s Fourth of July wristband sales efforts. Lankinen was far and away the club’s top wristband seller, garnering more than eight thousand dollars in sales himself.

MARK & WALT SAY WAY TO GO!  CONGRATULATIONS…YOU WENT AND “DONE SOMETHING GOOD” FOR MARQUETTE COUNTY!  KEEP IT UP!
