Wow James and I have been going, going, going with interviews this week! Lots of new ones to check out on our website- www.wqxo.com. We’ve got a new animal shelter interview, a few from the Ice Drags this weekend, Valley Spur’s Taste and Glide, Evan from Corktown bar came in to sit with me for an interview, as did Alethea Shelly to talk about the Ecumenical Lenten Services happening at the local churches!

It’s Tuesday morning and what a beautiful Tuesday morning it is! We’ve been given another day of this sunshine and from the looks of it, I think we’re going to hang on to this sunshine throughout the week! A nice, mild sun-filled week in Munising…. aahhhhhhhh. (yep, there I was daydreaming about our beaches in the summer time!) 
James and I are going to be hitting the bricks this week and cruising town attempting to meet as many of our fans and listeners as possible. So if you see us out and about, stop and say hello! Grab a bumper sticker! Let us know what YOU’D like to hear more of on the radio. It’ll be nice to get some feedback from our listeners and new ideas!

HAPPY FRIDAY! 
After this last work week, James and I certainly hope that everyone has a fun-filled fabulous weekend! We heard that the sun will be shining and things will be beautiful sooo- Get out and enjoy that sunshine!
The last few weekends, we have been covering ALOT of local events. Things like the Munising 300, Winterfest, The Midnight Run, Trenary Outhouse Races- just to name a few! And this weekend is no different! We’ve got the Ice Drags happening down at the Bay and the Taste and Glide happening out at Valley Spur! Be sure to tune in this weekend– OR better yet, come down and visit us, live on location! Get a picture with us while you’re at it and we’ll get it posted on our website!

This Saturday, March 6th, starting at 11:00- Munising Bay will come to life as racers roar over the ice on their snowmobiles!
This annual event is always a fun spectator event and if you are looking for some fun this weekend, be sure to stop on down to the ice and watch the drags! Races starting at 11a.m. Just follow the signs in town to the starting line and WQXO will see you there! 
March 6th The 18th Annual Taste and Glide: a fun filled family eat and ski event from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants pay a fee and then ski from one trail side buffet table to the next, sampling and enjoying many delicious foods, such as chocolate covered strawberries! The trail side buffets are accessible from both the traditional and the skating trails. Hot foods and beverages are available in heated lodge. Entertainment will be provided. Register at the lodge on the day of the event. Please visit our website (info@valleyspur.org) for more information and the cost of the event.
March 13th: The Snowman Triathlon will be held at Valley Spur. Participates will ski, snow shoe and run. Participates can either do all three or create a team of participates to split up the work. Race starts at 9:30 a.m. and participates must be registered by 9:00 a.m. the day of the race. For more information contact Kurt Harger who is heading up this event.
Additionally Mid season rates for season passes are 1/2 price at $40. and kids 17 and under ski free.
The trails are in great shape and there is plenty of skiing left this year. Also on Saturdays and Sundays come into the lodge and enjoy homemade soup and bread that is donated by the Cooking Carberry’s. Donations are appreciated for the soup and bread they go to the Valley Spur ski system.
Wow, now this was an exciting weekend for WQXO and if you happened to be listening this weekend, you’d know why! James and I were out ALL weekend covering the Munising 300 and the Trenary outhouse Races. It was so fun!
At the Munising 300, I had no idea how fast these sleds can actually go. Not only that but to see the trucks and SEMI’S that were bringing these racers to Munising were absolutely amazing! This was a very important race to these racers and they had their game faces on! I took my son to this and we found an amazing spot down M-28 by Indian Town Road where the racers were full throttle by the time the reached us. just FLYING by and the jumps– my goodness! They were jumping like 5 feet in the air! The exhilaration and excitement filled the air out there in Wetmore at the Cherrywood Lodge.
As for the Trenary Outhouse Race- now that was quite a turn out! There were THOUSANDS of people roaming around the little town of Trenary! Some of the ‘outhouses’ they were racing were so unbelievably original, it made you wonder how they came up with the ideas for them! It was quite windy and pretty cold out there but it was so worth it if you made the trip out!
